This small plate, with its fan shape combining curves and sharp lines, features a thick, boldly brushed hidasuki (scarlet-line pattern) resembling a single stroke. It evokes the image of a "tessen" or iron fan, carried by samurai for self-defense and as a weapon. The rugged, iron-rich texture of Bizen ware gives it a strong presence on the table. We are excited to see how this "tessen" evolves in the future. We will create a custom wooden box after receiving your order, which will take approximately three weeks.
